Haters come in many shapes, sizes, and colors – including Black.

Before we can expect another race to love the black woman we must learn to love ourselves and receive equal love from our black men.

Now before feathers get rustled, I’m not saying that ALL black women lack confidence, and I’m not saying ALL black men have a problem with black women. But let’s be realistic.

While our race constantly cries out for Unity in the Community we are in reality at the head of the list when it comes to tearing one another down.

How can we expect another to love the Black woman when on television, and in the boardroom we have the Black man telling ‘the majority’ nation that he won’t date a black woman because of yada yada yada. This does not help our community but instead makes us look as disorganized as ever.

And then there’s the animosity among so many sistas. Instead of complimenting our sistas on a stylish hairdo or promotion we’ll smile in her face and then smirk behind her back that she is less than what she should be.

Again not ALL black people do this…but let’s be real – we know a lot who do.

The Black woman is gorgeous. Beautiful. I’m beautiful and I cannot exhaust myself with wondering and waiting and waiting and wondering why another race or my own race cannot see that in even the darkest light I am just as gorgeous as the next woman whether she is as light as untouched cotton or as dark as a forest sky.

Let us not act as if it is only the ‘other’ races that shun the beauty of the black woman. Before we go outside the home and ask ‘why’ do you not recognize my beauty…we truly need to flip on the light in our own community and ensure that our backbone (the black man) is carrying his load as well.

We need to organize ourselves as a community and embrace that beauty comes in all shades. We segregate amongst our own and don’t think twice about it. It’s taboo to be a ‘darker’ shade of black. Now the new ‘in’ thing is to be ‘multi-racial’ and anything but 100% black. Sista’s purchasing hair by Europeans to look like Europeans and brothas chasing the lightest of the light. It’s not all of us – but its far too many of us to excuse.

If we cannot organize ourselves on our own accord and love each other from lightness to darkness…kinky hair to straight hair flair – then how can we condemn the next race for not recognizing the beauty of the Black woman. They are just following what they see us do.

African American women are the most attrative to me.

you heap stereotype upon stereotype. You can not dis someone’s generalization if you yourself generalize!

You can not twist your question like this and expect only the answer you are looking for, people are way smarter than that.

Black women are some of the most beautiful women on the planet. Beyonnce Knowles, Hallie Berry. Come on Now! Not one white man here would toss ANY of those women out of bed and they KNOW it!

But not all races of people are all ugly or all beautiful.

All people however, of all colors, are racist. Most don’t even know it.

Black women aren’t ugly.

I am truly sorry for your self – hatred and insecurity regarding your looks! That you would allow others to see you in that way! There are issues that you need to address and here is not the forum! I have no idea what you are talking about and it’s disgusting that you look and see anyone in this way! Or would pay attention to anyone who does and care about them or their opinions at all! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As a black woman myself I KNOW I’m beautiful. In my eyes, I am attractive. I don’t look like Halle Berry or Beyonce Knowles by no means but my chocolate skin , big lips, and "thickness" along with my personality is beautiful to me. At the end of the day that’s all that matters.

Unfortunately in most cultures the "popular" standard of beauty displayed in the media influences some people. Be your own individual and embrace your own idea of beauty.

Funny, I am constently getting comments about how BEAUTIFULL my girl is…..and I think that she is aswell, but then it is the comments about me being with a "black" girl that stop me……."oh yea, guess she is, huh, I will have to talk to her about that!!" LOL come on, does color matter anymore? For that matter how about race? I am 50% native american……..so what does that make me, a redskin? beauty is in all forms, and not always what you see. Overlook the shollow people, and know that most of them have to pay for thier beauty, a natural glow has no price, and it comes from you.

Okay here we go. During the times of slavery, white masters would sleep, rape, and yes fall in love with their female slaves. The children of these relationships were lighter skinned, had more European features, and to white people looked more like them. These offspring were brought into the house which is where we got the term house-slave. Those who weren’t favored by the white masters were left in the field and retain their African characteristics such as wide noses and fuller lips. It is true that the closer someone looks like you the more you are going to find them attractive and trust although this is not right. Because of this reason many white people do not find dark-skinned black women attractive because there are stereotypes. This is not because of white people today but because of white and light-skinned people of the past. The light-skinned slaves were treated better and some were allowed to read and write. Also light-skinned people would also look down upon dark-skinned blacks. I belong to the Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity, which is the most prestigious black fraternity in America. They accept anyone and there have and are now white members. However, in the early years up until about the 1960′s or so I would not have been able to join because I am too dark. Deceased Supreme Court Justice Thurgood Marshall, who was an Alpha, writes in his autobiography about the "brown paper sack test". They would place a brown paper sack next to your skin and if you were darker than you could not join. He was ashamed and angered by this even though he passed the test which is why he is one of my hereos because he stood up for people like me. Dark-skinned people are considered less intelligent, more African in their appearence, violent, and just generally unattractive to some people. It has been ingrained into white people’s mind that you are not to taste of the forbidden fruit. This can be shown because when a white person starts to like a black person there are always people in their lives that try to throw up roadblocks such as, "what if you have children, they will be harrassed, or do you want people to look at you like a freak when you walk down the streets? And there are many more questions like this. They have to look at things like this and knowing that are people in their families who would never approve of this kind of union. So, people just can’t get over all of the obstacles put into place by our past ancestors and our present families. However, the times are a changing isn’t it. Many white people now have a lot of contact with black people and view these stereotypes as ridiculous. Also in the 1980′s when I was in high school there was a huge upswing of white girls dating black boys. This was a period of rebellion because they did the exact opposite of what their parents told then not to do. While it was viewed as black men taking white women, it is now viewed as somewhat normal in today’s society. If you look around you will start to see white men dating and marrying black women. And the black women are usually of the dark-skinned appearance. Taboos are being broken down right this minute just as Dr. Martin Luther King wished. Now my sister, you know that it is not right to just ask this question because you know that in the black culture some black people don’t think white people are attractive. We all have friends and family who get together and talk about white people and black people who date them. And there are a whole new set of obstacles such as, "How can they date someone who had ancestors who enslaved us" and other stupid stuff like that. If someone thinks you are unattractive then don’t pay attention because there are plenty of people who think you are. Peace

The fact that some whites say. Black females are ugly doesnt mean all whites say that. Even some blacks do say that white females are very unattractive. Its the same with every race.

Try to understand the world as being even. So that people will not think you are trying to gain self pity.

I am a black person myself from the South Pacific Island of Bougainville. I don’t know why some people hate black women coz i think all women are the same. They all have the same physical features, everything that u can find on a white lady you will find on a black lady, just the color difference on the outside.

I myself think black women are so gorgeous and chocolate and dark skin is a real turn on. i like their fuller lips and chocolate skin and coz of that i think white women with a tan and full lips are okay too. they’re all women anyways.
