My dad is losing his hair. Is permanent, real, hair restoration possible? Bosley? ect. If it simply doesn’t work please tell me now.

My hair is not as thick as it used to be. I would like to know what’s the best way to reverse this trend. Rogain is supposed to work only on crown area. I am interested in overall hair restoration. I am far from being bald, I just want to have hair I used to have.

Hi,
I asked earlier that I am going bald at front and thinking of having hair transplant but i want thickness too so whats my option hair transplant or hair restoration..all these famous hair clinic like bosley and other are they hair transplant or hair restoration?which one is costly ?
And most hair clinics provide both hair trnasplant as well as hair restroation or they decide when you make an appointment?

so that means even if you have hair transplant from your back or other part of your body it wont last forever you will be bald after few months or year.?so whts the point of spending thousand of dollars if hair transplant wont work or wont last forever?

There’s a guy out there in CA selling a hair restoration "serum" and shampoo (expensive!) called Restoration Hair.

Does anyone have any experience with this stuff, or is it snake oil?

So i am thinking of getting hair restoration. I just did some research on it and i am still a little nervous. I am wondering if anyone in the yahoo community has done this before or know someone who has done this. My question’s are, How much does a procedure like this cost? Has anyone found it to be very effective? Does it hurt? Any answer’s would help thank you..

genetic hairloss runs in my father’s side of the family (father/uncle) so I decided to seek a hair restoration surgeon to check the health of my hair. Aside from a small recession in the front, I still have a full head of hair, however, this doctor used some microscope to check my scalp and it showed some of the hairs were miniaturizing. He prescribed some drug called finasturide 5mg and said it was probably genetic loss since I told him it ran in my dad’s family. I look in the mirror and I still have a full head of hair, so I don’t think I buy into what this doctor says. My dermatologist says as we age, we all miniaturize, it is just part of getting older and if I don’t show any visible signs I should be ok. I don’t think I’m going to take this medication for life per that hair surgeon’s advice just because I have a full of head of hair right now. What do you think?

like okay say you had no hair what so ever like completely bald. and you underwent hair restoration say you had curly hair before you went bald. now you took a person with straight and had some hair from his head removed and put onto your hair as they do in regular hair restoration except they do it with your own hair. now is that possible? and would your hair be straight or go back to curly? as in when it grows out

Recently, I’ve been curious about hair loss, for a couple of years I’ve had a very tiny recession but still have a full head of hair throughout. I went to see this hair restoration doctor in NYC, well-known in the field and provided free consultation but I felt rushed through it, he put some device called the densitometer on me, a device that none of the dermatologists or other hair specialists knew about and said that I exhibited very early signs of genetic hair loss.I told him my father started losing hair and thinning at 46 (56 now) so he immediately prescribed Propecia, he rushed me through the whole consultation and I didnt really get my questions answered well (a lot of I dunno). The whole experience made me unsure whether if I should trust him and spend the /mo on Propecia for life if right now I have a full head of hair.I saw a derm and a trichologist and he thought it’s not serious at the moment but if i start to exhibit signs then take it or take it to protect it.
I told the hair doc what my derm/trichologist thought…he got angry and told me to go back to see him, he thought maybe he did rush me through and he’d like to do this thoroughly this time around. The fact he wasn’t like this the first time doesn’t make me want to trust him. What do you think?

My fore-head is SPER huge! I was wondering if some hair restoration program like Bosley would help?

26 and have all my hair but I know that hair loss runs on my dad’s side of the family. I may have thinned a little on the sides and receded a tiny bit.(but still Norwood 1) Want to protect my hair from future loss but would rather try and stay away from Propecia cuz its costly and may have to take it for life. The fact that I have my hair now at age 26, it may not be the best idea for my health. Saw a well-known hair restoration surgeon who told me that I had extremely early symptoms of thinning (from the fact that I told him my father/uncle had hair loss) and that I should take propecia right away. I found it hard to believe so I went to the derms who agreed that I receded a little but it was not serious. There was no need to be aggressive with medication and that I may be fine for the next 20-30 years. They advised that I take it if i started showing noticeable signs.Who should I trust, derms or the hair doc?
I believe that dermatologists would know just as much about the basics of hair loss as a hair restoration surgeon. The only way hair restorations surgeons are more credible is if you were looking for hair transplants.

Hair restoration

I am wondering how important it would be to have a web page for a salon which is also a hair restoration place. we get calls from the area, but do you think it would do that much to have a website for people to go and look at. would you feel more comfortable making an apointment if you could look online about it first?
also if you work/own at a salon or restoration place- did you notice an increase of new clients?

I am planning to have hair restoration/ transplant.
1. How much does it cost? Please see my Avatar picture. (hint: my hair is little less than my Avatar picture)

2. do you reccomend Bosley?

3. what are the disatvantages of hair transplantation? (except cost)

doctor endorses hair restoration and he got no hair wtf?

Ive been going to a hair restoration clinic for just about a year now and see no results . Twice a week I go for 15 minute laser treatment sessions. Also a great amount of gas money has been spent going to in from the clinic. . . I am seeing no results .

Should I ask for my money back ? What would tell me ?

For the money spent on hair restoration , I would have been better off getting human hair extensions to help thicken and add volume.

What works and what does not work. What does it cost to have hair restoration? Any tips would be great.

I am a female experiencing alopecia, have used minoxidil for about 10 years and tired of using it. Thinking of trying biomatrix hair restoration, any suggestions or recommendations for a best doctor or a method to restore my hair.

Has anyone ever had a hair restoration procedure that didn’t work? Let me know how you handled it and what was your next option.

I am thinking of trying Bosley or something similar for my hair loss issues. I wondered if anyone has tried hair restoration with any success?
