I hear all too often "those are fake" like it somehow matters. Do breast implants somehow cause a woman to no longer be smart, attractive, or charismatic? I have never witnessed the same kind of prejudice when it comes to fake nails or hair color. As far as I am concerned, shaving body hair should be considered just as fake. It is a modification of what grows naturally. I happen to like dyed hair, painted nails, shaved legs, breast implants, etc. Beauty enhancement is supposed to be a good thing. Why do women speak so negatively of breast implants?
Carol, you are right. However, it is the tone and the negative commentary that almost always follows. That is what gives it away.
smb, since u asked about my pic… I was shot in the head. I’m already dead. (j/k it’s a fake gunshot wound, much like fake breasts. fun for me but possibly bothersome for others to look at.)

I have some hair on my chest and I want to get laser surgery to remove the hair, I know it will take a couple of sessions but has anyone done this before? How many sessions did it take you? and I want to get breast implants later on in life, will that be a problem if I did the laser hair removal?

My hair is thin but noticeable if you look close and mainly around the nipple.. =(

Thanks for your help! =)

Have artificial appearance "enhancers", like breast implants, or less dramatically, fake tans, make up and hair dyes, confused peoples’ perceptions of what an attractive person looks like?

I’m asking because, none of these things are natural, yet men think that they look attractive, even though in nature in primal times, none of them would have existed.

When i say that people think breast implants look attractive, what i mean is this – lots of girls with false boobs get into the Men’s magazine "sexiest" polls all the time. Men seem to like the big, "hard", high up look of breasts that doesn’t occur in nature, because natural large boobs are made of fat and the weight drags them down. It’s either small and perky, or large and floppier, lower down in the natural world lol.

I suppose what i’m trying to get at is this…. Have modern, artificial appearance enhancers confused men (or maybe all of us, people in general) changed our perceptions of what is attractive? We seem to favour unnatural looking things, like the fake tans, make up, and dyed hair….None of that it what a natural person looks like. So how come we can think it’s attractive?

Thanks everyone =)

The culture of beauty pageants has always been based on the Barbie mentality. The 18 to 25 year old contestants are required to wear expensive evening gowns and spend money on makeup, makeup artists, manicures, pedicures, skin treatments and expensive hair care. Many of the girls change their hair color and almost all of them wear fake eyelashes. A few of the girls are beautiful without makeup but many beauty pageant girls are average looking at best and must have makeup to look good. If hair coloring and breast implants where banned from the Miss Universe pageant and no makeup was allowed during the swimsuit segment the world could what the girls really look like. The girls could wear makeup during the evening gown segment only. What do you think? Does the world deserve to see the girls naturally so we can accurately judge who the most beautiful girl really is?
