Is there just One Documented Case of an Actual Event…..?

when an amputee asked God for a new limb, but God refused that person? For those who may not be aware, a typical argument given by Athiests is that God doesn’t exist because He has never given an amputee a new limb. Why do they use such an example rather than a less flammatory one such as God doesn’t give bald guys a new head of hair? Because God does. He revealed Rogaine and hair implants to bald guys. God is good.

Yet, even with the inflammatory example using the tragedy of people who have lost limbs, are athiests able to give an example where God refused the request of a new limb by a person?

How about a case where someone had a body part chopped off by a sword and God healed the person and reattached the chopped off body part?

Isn’t a chopped off body part another way to describe an amputee?

God rarely intervenes to reverse any injury or illness. The times when he did intervene (such as restoring the ear Peter amputated in defense of Jesus) were designed to vindicate his prophets and confirmed their mission.

Those who think an unanswered prayer is somehow a refutation of God seem to think a prayer is a magical incantation. In fact, it is simply a request, and God deals with our requests in ways that are most appropriate. Miraculous intervention is rarely best for us.

There has to be a god in existence in order for it to refuse anyone anything. So really then, can you offer up an instance where god has refused a request for a new limb? Of course the amputee not regrowing his limb is the natural course of things, so just observing this fact wouldn’t tell you anything about a god making a conscious choice.

Strange. Jesus sure seemed to do a lot of it himself when he was on earth. I don’t recall Jesus telling a sick man to see a doctor instead of Jesus himself healing him. Hmm…

im shure you will get those that say they have asked to no avail for a new limb. but God does cure amputees not by giving them a new limb but by them learning how to live with the disability and being ok with it. some amputees are blessed by God and accomplish things that a normal person can’t.

God did not reveal minoxodil; it was developed in the laboratory by teams of pharmaceutical scientists, many of whom were doubtless nonbelievers.

The objective research indicates that prayer doesn’t work. For example, in one revelatory study, heart patients were told (at random) that they would receive prayer from strangers, that they might receive prayer from strangers, or nothing. The group that was told they MIGHT receive prayer had significantly worse outcomes than the other groups–evidently, the possibility of prayer does not help, it hurts.

Now, regarding the potential miracle of a new limb; it never has happened. So if God exists, the answer is ALWAYS no. Those petitioner’s prayers are useless.

I know of no serious such example. I know lots of atheists sarcastically "ask" for this or that to happen, and then declare God to be a fraud when He doesn’t respond positively to the sarcastic "prayer."

I think all of us often fail to recognize alternative ways of being happy and productive. I once met a man who was as severely disabled as a person could be and still be able to communicate. He could talk softly, but could not move himself at all, and was totally blind – what he called "black blind", unable even to see light if he was out in the noontime sun. He insisted that he had a good life. He gave speeches about disabilities, which made him somewhat famous. He told me he really was fairly happy. Weighing about thirty pounds, in a permanent fetal position, blind and with no use of his legs or arms, he told me he was happy. I’d have to say he was probably the most amazing mere human I ever have met.

My body functions about the way it’s supposed to, and I’m glad and thankful for that. I am not sure, though, that people with only one arm necessarily need another one. I would feel sorry for any such person, but maybe God knows better.

They need to READ about actual amputees and people born without limbs that were healed and the miracles of limbs growing back on the person in front of Witnesses and they are recorded in News articles and books
Smith Wigglesworth is a good one to read about and people like Wesley, Luther, William Seymour,William Branham,Charles Par-ham , to name just a few who have had eye witness accounts of Miracles, healing, dead raised to life deaf hear and blind see, etc etc…..

All it takes is study and research….

In one case with Smith Wigglesworth, he prayed for a man who had no feet and told him God told him to go buy a pair of shoes and the man believed the man of God and waited at a shoe store for it to open and when they owner and its employee’s opened he went inside and told them he wanted a pair of shoes…when the young employee asked what size and the man told him he didn’t know, the boy looked down at his legs that had no feet and told him he couldn’t help him there.The man said no i come to purchase a pair of shoes and he told the young employee there he wanted a size 8 that , it sounded like a good size to obtain, so the young employee of the store gave him a pair of shoes and while the young employee and the owner watched the man insert his stubs into the shoes the mans feet suddenly appeared and he got up and paid for the shoes and walked out of the store…..Its a recorded story….i might not have every detail correct, but it is a eye witnessed story…..

Miracles do happen….God performs miracles everyday and would more often if His people would just have faith and Believe He will do what He said He would do in His Word as this man obeyed and did !!!

Because religious people claim that the power of prayer has healed someone who was sick. Therefore if god is able to "cure" someone who is sick; then surely god can use his "magic" to regrow a limb of an amputee.

if you know about rogaine, then you know God heals in different ways. this has been addressed many times in this forum so I will try to make it short.
God heals amputees. Healing may not be what you believe it to be, but they adjust and get on with life through the use of prothesis and other assistive devices. If you ask the amputee, he would probably tell you that he could have bled to death but God healed the wound and healing the wound saved his life.

This is not a very good argument lol, God didn’t "reveal Rogaine", man developed it.

The problem is that a bald guy doesn’t need hair and an amputee doesn’t need another limb. They can survive without it, God is rarely concerned with such trivia.

they can’t give such an example. this argument is used to show god doesnt exist, but this is silly as god, by definition, cannot be disproven.

the answer to the amputee question is that we all have problems and none can question the will of god. being an amputeen could save us as we recognise and appreciate the simple things in life or do good etc.
thus their argument is silly and goes nowhere

No one lacks a belief in god simply due to amputees not regenerating limbs.

The point of that argument is when the religious rave about how good prayer is and how ‘well’ it works.

And are you really insinuating that you don’t think there was EVER an amputee that prayed for their lost limb to come back? I find it funny that you want credible, verifiable proof that an amputee prayed for their lost limb, yet don’t need credible, verifiable proof of your god.
