Yes, you would wear it out fast, yes the surgery is going to be difficult to get over.

Really though, if it’s a matter of both comfort and function, tell him you want to get it as soon as humanly possible, or you’re going to find a new doctor.
He works for YOU.
If he’s not doing his job, fire him.
Yes, he knows what he’s doing, but only YOU know what you go through on a daily basis. If you can stick it out a few more years, please, try your damndest. if not, hunt around for one who will fix ya.

You may not need a complete replacement.
I know with the knee, you can do partial replacements, or even half implants.

you should seek alternative treatment, it sounds like you have a cartilage issue, there are procedures where they can insert more, to make a sort of pad where the bones join…. but that’s terrible that your having problems like this, I hope you find something that works for you.

the last thing you would want is to have a join replacement procedure done, this will give you much less flexibility, and motor movement. seek out other treatments before doing this, it will take incredibly long to recover from that surgery
