I have massive hair loss too, but it is normal.
"It is normal to lose up to about 100 hairs a day although too much brushing, hair rubbing or excessive washing can add to this.
Hair loss may increase with age but male-pattern baldness is not abnormal, or a sign of abnormality, it simply suggests that your pattern of hair loss is, like 95% of hair loss, genetically pre-determined."
If its alot of hair that u lose u better change ur shampoo
we can loose up to a 1000 strands a week and we can loose more with the change of seasons
they say you can lose up to 200 per day
if you are worried go and see your GP
it could be something simple like a hormone imbalance
good luck
there are periods when you have much hair gone and its normal, but if this continues you have to give your hair a break!!just dont use so many styling products…good luck!!
Have your thryoid checked. I did and that was why I was gaining weight and loossing massive amounts of hair. ALso if you u have long hair get it cut about every 4 weeks to get the split ends cut off. This way your hair wont split and break off, thus loosing hair.
get checked….sound like allopecia
YOU DO KNOW EVERY 6 TO 7 YEAR’S YOUR SCALP SHED’S HAIR OUT AND NEW ONE’S COME BACK IF NOT YOUR USING THE WRONG SHAMPOO.IT’S TOO HARD ON YOUR HAIR TYPE.GOOD LUCK HOPE YOU FIND SOME THING TO HELP YOU STOP LOOSING YOUR HAIR.
30%
Hair loss varies from person to person. If, as you say, it comes out in clumps, I would suggest a quick visit to your doctor. Certain types of medication can also cause hair loss. As I do not know your age, I can not say anything for sure but this, please see your doctor to ensure all is OK as soon as possible.
Depending on how old you are….. but if its comming out in clumps as you say I would go to the doctor to get it checked, just in case its allopecia, (allopecia) normally affects men, but can affect women also, it’s brought on by many things, stress, loss of job, death in the family, marriage problems etc….. although hopefully its, just the shampoo your using, or maybe a hormone imbalance, get it checked either way… gud luck…
Its normal to lose quite a bit of hair when washing or brushing it …but if you use wash n go be careful it may be taking the name as instructions …lol…
as above.
upto 100 hair is OK…
Treatment for Hair Growth

the lot with the amount of baldheaded gentlemen i see around and you sound as though your going to add another one
100 hairs a day approximately if you are losing excessive amount that leaves patches it will be alopecia see your gp who will refer you to a trichologist
Do you smoke or have a stressful job?
That sometimes contributes.
Otherwise are you washing your hair to often with wrong shampoo or using gel or hair spray all the time?
up to 100 hairs is o.k.
if you are losing much more, then you need to look at whether you have been very stressed or have changed your diet. many women who lose an excessive amount of weight ,quickly , also lose a lot of hair. or on the opposite scale, even tiny women who don’t eat healthily ,can lose hair.
i also suddenly lost my hair in excessive amounts,a while back. i started taking codliver oil, magnesium, vit b’s and zinc. now every hairdresser i see, comments on the healthy state of my hair, which luckily has returned to a normal amount of loss.
on this site http://www.hairproformula.com they explain some more reasons for possible loss on the FAQ section. the product sounds good as it has many of the supplements that i took in it, plus others. i can’t swear by it , as I have not tried it.
I am sure you will be able to sort it out . good luck.
hi i have loads of hair loss. i keep telling my partner if i lose any more i.ll be bald for Christmas.
seriously though i do think we can damage our hair by chemicals and products, my hair has always been worse after the summer. i fall out in clumps too.
to make things worse i went and got mine permed, what a big mistake.
on the other hand hair loss can be attributed to some medical conditions. i have policystic ovaries and that can cause you to lose the hair on your head but can also encourage hair growth on the face.
so when i go bald at Christmas i can comb my moustache over my conk.ha ha.
try some hair strengthening products, i use john Freida rescue repair its great, something that will help to reduce breakage is your best bet.
if you are getting balding patches go to your doctor, it may need investigating..
good luck hope you don’t mind the humour. i honestly do feel for you.
Hair growth has three stages. The first is the "anagen," or growing phase. Ninety percent of our hair is usually in this stage at any given time and stays there for one to two years. "Telogen" is the "resting" phase. Eight percent of the hair is there for three to four months, followed by "catagen," the "falling out" phase, which accounts for the last one to two percent of the hair cycle. Fortunately, our hair growth is not synchronized. Otherwise we would go bald every few years! This also means that it is normal to lose a certain amount of hair every day. One hundred to 150 hairs is considered normal, depending on how much hair you have to start with. If your hair is long, 150 hairs can look like a lot of hair.
tthere are bound to be some variations in how much hair we lose on any given day depending on what we do to our hair. You may notice less hair loss if you don’t brush your hair one day, or more if you manipulate it more on the next. I think it’s reasonable to consult your doctor if this lasts more than a few weeks. Obviously, if you notice big chunks falling out, you need to see your doctor immediately. Thyroid conditions or other hormonal changes, anemia, malnutrition or even lupus can have hair loss as one of the signs of the condition. There is also a condition called alopecia areata, where the hair falls out in patches. Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition where the body attacks the hair follicle. The hair falls out in discreet circle-shaped patches of hair. You can also get this on the eyebrows or any hair-bearing part of the body. It is usually treated with a series of cortisone injections into the scalp to stop the inflammation and help the hair regrow. But it should be treated early; if you treat it within a couple of weeks to months, there is a better chance of the hair coming back.
loosing some hair is normal loosing it in clumps isn’t see a dr
You’d be better off asking your doctor for advice it could be something treatable.
If you are coloring your hair or taking medication, you might lose more than without. I think maybe a few strands is normal.
