It depends. If your insurance covers it, it’s very cheap. If not, it’s anywhere from 60-100$ a month.

That’s if your endo knows what she’s doing. My first endocrinologist didn’t know what she was doing, and put me on premarin. 50$ for a 3 days supply. Absolutely ridiculous. Make your your endo has a lot of experience with trans patients.

The question isn’t how expensive the hormones are the the cumulative process that it takes for you to get the ok to take hormones. Hence, why the TS roadmap did not post it.

First and foremost, you need to seek out a therapist to even determine you have the diagnoses to lead to the path of furthering transition medically.

With the sessions with your therapist, they will deem when it is ok to clear you for HRT. For me, I do not ok the HRT under a certain time but when I feel that person is ready and physically and mentally capable of handling the changes that come with HRT. After 6 months of continious HRT, you will be permanently sterile, your breast growth will be permanent and various other factors play into the decision making process.

I usually make sure the client is mentally and emotionally stable before oking hormones. Nothing is worse that a depressed, confused, and suicidal girl the clearance to take these medications because HRT intensifies the emotions you already have. Usually the time in therapy is from three months to a year or never. It all depends on the client.

I transitioned a couple years ago and after being a licensed Gender Psychologist, I even struggled with the HRT. It’s not an easy and fun road. The changes are severe.

Once you do get the clearance, you then need to find an Endocrinologist that will work with you. Many Endocrinologists traditionally work on restoring hormone levels that are native to the body, not introduce new ones, so finding a sympathetic doctor will be as much homework as finding a therapist who knows what they are doing.

Once you do get the prescriptions after some blood work your medications will be the price of generics at Walmart. Usually 4 dollars a bottle.

EDIT: oh and Danielle is absolutely right. Stay away from Premarin. I never trusted horse piss and I never will.
